RO 1 STRENGTHENS ADM PPAs AGAINST SCHOOL DROP-OUT

In support of the Department of Education’s (DepEd) commitment to accelerate the delivery of quality and inclusive basic education services for all learners, the Regional Office 1, through the Curriculum and Learning Management Division (CLMD), conducted the Cluster ADM Convergence among the Southwestern City SDOs of Region 1 (Cluster A) at the Empress Hotel, Lucap, Alaminos City, Pangasinan on March 17-20, 2025.
Pursuant to Regional Memorandum No. 387 s. 2025, titled Cluster Convergences Cum Advocacy, Benchmark, and Insight Exchange on the Key Metrics of ADM Implementation in the Schools Division Offices of Region 1, CLMD had its first leg of cluster ADM convergences with SDO Alaminos City as the host division.
The event kicked off with a welcome speech by Dr. Wilfredo E. Sindayen, CESO VI, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent (ASDS) of SDO Alaminos City, followed by the roll call of participants facilitated by Ms. Benedicta T. Santos, EPS in Araling Panlipunan.
Furthermore, the rationale of the activity was then delivered by Dr. Editha T. Giron, Regional ADM Focal/ CLMD-EPS, wherein she provided updates on the implementation of ADM in Region 1, and reiterated ADM’s advocacy “STAR2STAR: Making STudents At Risk to Students Taking Academic Responsibility,” which aims to respond to the education needs of the community through alternative modalities.
Meanwhile, Dr. Orlando I. Guerrero, CID Chief of SDO Alaminos City, discussed the Implementation Rules and Regulations (IRR) of the Open High School System (OHSS). Participants were also divided per SDO for the mapping and profiling of ADM learners, as well as the mapping of contextualized instructional delivery and strategies.
The Benchmarking Activity was held at the Alaminos City National High School (ACNHS), SDO Alaminos City on March 19. The host school, led by Mr. Rey B. Pascua, Principal I/OIC-Principal IV, and Ms. Gina O. Liwanag, ACNHS’ Head Teacher III in EsP, presented their unique practices and school-initiated intervention. Moreover, Dr. Pedro Jose Cudal, Planning Officer-PPRD in RO1 discussed the Management of Output and Input of ADM Program Support Fund (PSF) via online conference.
The final day of the convergence was dedicated to planning of future ADM programs, projects and activities which will be included in the ADM Implementation Plan. Dr. Arlene A. Niro, Chief Education Supervisor in CLMD RO1, and Dr. Ely S. Ubaldo, CESO VI, SDS of SDO Alaminos City, extended their support with their presence and motivational messages to the delegates. During the closing program, Dr. Giron gave her Words of Challenge to the participants, a call for their continuous commitment in supporting the mission and goals of ADM. Certificates of Recognition and Participation were given to the 75 delegates.

A sweep of top awards at the 2025 National Science and Technology Fair has propelled the Science and Technology team from the Alaminos City National High School onto the international stage.

Their remarkable achievement culminated in celebratory courtesy calls today to Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Ely S. Ubaldo, CESO VI, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Wilfredo E. Sindayen, and City Mayor Arth Bryan C. Celeste.

The team, known as Team EDAD, consists of Charly David T. Manuel, Rey Alfred S. Quiam and Klein Gunneries R. Bubos, under the expert guidance of coach Kris Cristhopher C. Dela Cruz. Their impressive performance at the Great Eastern Hotel in Quezon City (March 24-28) saw them claim a remarkable collection of awards in the Robotics and Intelligent Machines Team Category: Best Project, Best Project Display, and Best Presenter. They also received the prestigious Young Scientists Award from the Gokongwei Brothers Foundation, and their innovative project was selected as one of the overall best entries in the competition.

The team's success is also a testament to the support provided by Education Program Supervisor Dr. Cynthia B. Tablang and School Principal Rey B. Pascua.

This extraordinary success has earned Team EDAD a coveted spot at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Columbus, Ohio, USA, from May 10-16, 2025. The ISEF is a highly competitive international competition showcasing the world's most promising young scientists.

During their courtesy calls, the students shared their experiences and expressed gratitude for the unwavering support they received from the Schools Division Office and the local government. The officials lauded the team's exceptional accomplishments, emphasizing their significant contribution to enhancing Alaminos City's reputation for excellence in science and technology. SDO Alaminos City Honors Teachers and Personnel in Retro Style

To recognize and to celebrate the dedication and resiliency of all teachers and personnel, the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Alaminos City hosted the much-anticipated 2025 DepEd Night in retro style at the Don Leopoldo Sison Convention Center on March 27, 2025.

The event has special significance as it coincided with the conclusion of the school year, serving as a fitting tribute to the unwavering commitment of both teaching and non-teaching personnel from public and private schools in the city.

Gracing the occasion as Guest of Honor and Speaker was Department of Agrarian Reform Undersecretary Atty. Kazel C. Celeste. In her message, USec Celeste emphasized the invaluable contributions of teachers and education personnel in shaping the nation’s future. She commended their dedication, resilience, and hard work, highlighting the profound impact they have on their learners and the community.

Likewise, City Mayor Arth Bryan C. Celeste paid tribute to Alaminian teachers, assuring them of the Local Government Unit’s unwavering support. He also acknowledged their vital role in community development and reiterated the LGU’s commitment to advancing education through sustained programs and initiatives.

Meanwhile, Dr. Ely S. Ubaldo, CESO VI, Schools Division Superintendent, reminded the teachers the importance of balancing their professional responsibilities with their personal well-being. She, too, emphasized that a healthy work-life balance leads to more effective teaching and greater fulfillment in both personal and professional life.

The major highlight of the evening was the Gawad Heneral Roman Manalang Award, recognizing outstanding teaching and non-teaching personnel for their exceptional contributions to the education sector.

Adding to the night’s excitement was the Variety Show Contest, in which teachers and personnel from different schools and clusters showcased their talents through music, dance, and theatrical performances.

The event was also attended by City Vice Mayor Jan Marionne R. Fontelera, Former City Vice Mayor Jose Miguel Antonio Y. Perez and SDO Alaminos City key officials, including Dr. Wilfredo E. Sindayen, CESO VI, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent; Dr. Orlando I. Guerrero, Chief Education Supervisor - CID; Dr. Arturo R. Viray, Chief Education Supervisor - SGOD, and Ms. Rosalie R. Sarmiento, Administrative Officer V, along with other SDO personnel and guests.

This year's DepEd Night was notable as it was included as part of the annual Hundred Islands Festival, further elevating the celebration’s significance. This move also underscored SDO Alaminos City’s vital role as an important stakeholder in the city, highlighting its contributions to education and community development.

Meanwhile, to show their support and gratitude to the LGU, as one of the most notable education stakeholders in the Division, personnel and teachers of SDO Alaminos City also actively participated in the ihaw-ihaw activity and in the Civic-Military Parade on March 14 and 19, respectively. Congratulations to our Science and Technology Team for their impressive performance during the National Science and Technology Fair 2025 held at the Great Eastern Hotel, Quezon City on March 24-28, 2025.

Our SciTech Team, composed of Charly David T. Manuel, Rey Alfred S. Quiam and Klein Gunneries R. Bubos, which was coached by Mr. Kris Cristhopher C. Dela Cruz, all from Alaminos City National High School, will take home several top awards for their research project entitled EDAD: Early Diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease Utilizing Low-cost Plasma Peptide Extraction, Atmospheric Pressure Mass Spectrometer and Support Vector Machine-Based Classification of Amyloid-beta Species.

They will also represent our country in the upcoming 2025 INTERNATIONAL SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING FAIR which will be held at Columbus, Ohio, United States of America.
